The wait is almost over. Shopping convenience is coming to Casuarina Beach, along with a range of other community facilities. Casuarina Village will be a community meeting place; a safe haven for families to shop and play in the heart of the Casuarina community. The design of the centre caters for the needs of residents, the local community and tourists alike. Ample communal open spaces will provide a relaxed shopping environment and access couldn't be easier, with dedicated pedestrian and cycle ways and plenty of car parking onsite.
Construction is due to commence this year with completion of stage one in late 2011.
STAGE ONE WILL INCLUDE:
- A vibrant town centre comprising restaurants, cafes, retail stores, a surf lifesaving post and other community facilities.
- More than 13,500m2 of public open space including more than 8,100m2 of private 7(f)-zoned beachfront land.
- A large central park with 80 metres of beach frontage, designed as a meeting point for the community.
- Improved foreshore access including a 200 metre beachfront esplanade.
- Shopping Centre anchored by Coles Supermarket and 1160sqm of retail stores.
- 234 car parking spaces for the retail centre, plus a further 170 public car parking spaces located within 200 metres of the beach.
- Connection of the long awaited through-link of Casuarina Way between the northern and southern precincts of Casuarina Beach.
